When we found 901 Anderson St, it was an abandoned house in NoDa that may have eventually been torn down...but our designer saw something most other people would not -- she saw the home you see here. So, we bought a major fixer-upper. Other than rebuidling the foundation and reframing the roof, we basically built this one over again. Specifically, we completely gutted the interior and completely changed the layout for the way we live today. We gave it more of a great room feel. We also added a front porch, created a master suite that opens onto a large deck off teh back (taking advantage of the great back yard). We totally renovated the interior and added a full laundry room and gourmet kitchen with bar seating. We touched up some landscaping in the front and back yards and sold it shortly after putting it back on the market. Of course, we did a lot of things that you can't see such as updating the plumbing and electrical systems while we were at it. We also refinished all of the original hardwoods that someone had covered with carpet (what were they thinking?), installed slate in the awesome 2-person shower, added modern fixtures and all new new windows and doors.
